Working alongside emerging writer Amit Mattatia, I created a series of illustrations to accompany his first book, a poetic memoir exploring themes from his life as a soldier in Israel's Shayetet 13, a CEO, a father, a son, a complex array of experiences that culminate in who he is.
The process included many conversations about vision, aesthetic, and symbolism. We quickly landed in abstraction and simple lines as the foundation for illustrations that could be read and reread, not a drawing paired with a piece of poetry or prose, but thematic chapters in the book, a visual and literary journey.
